The DwB Africa Design fellowship aims to identify local design talent and equip them with the skills and thinking required to create the context based design solutions that will fuel the future African economy. Our fellows receive hands on design thinking training rooted in real business and social challenges where they have platform to problem solve with the mentorship of senior in house DwB designers - with an emphasis on product, systems and service design.
During their three month rigorous participation, the fellows develop their creative confidence, learn how to apply technical design skills and thinking across various sectors and help develop local design capacities so crucial for our creative economy!
There is a critical need for more problem solvers on the continent equipped with the skills and training required to create products that are relevant to the African user and citizen. Products designed with a good understanding of context will have a massive impact on our communities and help us move away from our dependency on imported foreign products
